Cargoshell container reduces carbon emissions

Cargoshell is a new concept for containers. Due to the huge trade imbalance between Asia and Europe/North America, a lot of containers are being re-shipped or returned empty, yet still requiring similar same space, energy and cost A foldable container that reduces the space used by a third is of significant interest and value in reducing CO2 emissions. As such, one can see the reduction if one considers that 3 empty containers can be shipped on 1 container position on a truck or vessel.

Made of composites rather than steel, this container is also lighter and therefore requires much less energy to transport than a heavier box. The cargoshell container is not immediately available as it appears to be in the process of certification. It's very likely however that the drawback to this new product is the price.

It may well be slow to take off and be accepted especially in this price conscious economy, yet in the years to come, the price will fall as production increases and the pressure on companies to reduce their carbon footprint increases as well.
